Burcu Karadağ can be described as the first woman pioneer of ney oriented blend of jazz and Anatolian music. She is one of a kind ney player, collaborating with young pianist Etibar Asadli, Turkey’s well known drums master Ekin Cengizkan, Alafsar Rahimov on the Caucasian traditional wind instruments ‘Balaban’ and ‘Zurna’, Enver Muhammedi on bass. The band combines Anatolian sounds and jazz harmonies in their own way. Even tough the musicians live in different cities, with the usage of their own cultural roots they build a whole spirit which lives in İstanbul, Paris, Baku and Kosova at the same time. Burcu Karadağ released the album 'Ney in Ethno Jazz', combining the traditional Anatolian melodies and jazz approach, which she brought to life again with her breath, in March 2019 with the label 'Y Kültür Sanat'. It brings deep-rooted melodies from different parts of Anatolia to modern jazz tunes.
