M.CHUZI (BE)

M.CHUZI is a Brussels-based groove formation from Belgium. We make world-wise sauce based on melting pot à la bruxelloise, an inviting mouthful of afro-rhythms, world groove, funk, and progressive jazz, combined with the spacy soundscapes of the Brussels metropole. Drummer Jan Heirman and Bass Man Niels d’Haegheleer form a basis, sauce chefs Basile Bourtembourg (keys), Gil Duarte Da Cruz (guitar) and Band Man Thomas De Vries (guitar) flavour the whole and the ultimate touch is delivered by a horn section with Mattéo Badet (tenor saxophone), Robbe Latré (trumpet & Flügelhorn) and Martin Lissoir (baritone saxophone). True to our music-as-sauce philosophy, we smother every stage with catchy musical experiments in an authentic fashion. We have a strong live reputation, with experience on both national and international stages such as Couleur Café (BE), Ancienne Belgique (BE), Eurosonic 2023 (NL), Zwarte Cross (NL), WIM Festival (ES), and many more.

A promising new EP Yiri BOOM!, following our first full album PAPARA, is coming out this April 2024 on Sdban Records.
