EMILE LONDONIEN (FR)

French trio Emile Londonien are known for their stylishly experimental blend of groove-based jazz and electronic traditions. Hailing from Strasbourg, France, the trio features drummer Matthieu Drago, synth player Nils Boyny, and bassist Théo Tritsch. They initially met while studying at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music and first began collaborating as part of the multidisciplinary Omezis Collective. Along with contemporary improvisors like French saxophonist Émile Parisien, who inspired the group's name, the trio draw inspiration from a blend of sounds, from modal jazz and funk to electronic dance traditions.

The group debuted with 2022's “Legacy" and returned with 2024's "Inwards" that will be presented at A to JazZ Festival. This project marks the growth and development of the band by making nods to the British Jazz scene and to established artists such as Ashley Henry, CHERISE and Kazy Lambist. They also continue to position themselves as leading lights of the new French Jazz scene by inviting prestigious artists such as Laurent Bardainne, Jowee Omicil and Léon Phal on the album. Once again, Emile Londonien surprises us with his ability to mix broken beat, house, jazz and RnB in a very unique way.
