FRANTIK ZEN

Saxophone player Arnau Garrofé presents his debut as a bandleader with his project Frantik Zen. An eclectic mix of styles, his music integrates multiple sources of inspiration with powerful and yet intricate compositions that combine sounds heavily rooted on groove music as well as complex melodies influenced by the virtuosity of modern saxophonists. Frantik Zen attempts to merge two opposing ideas into a single concept: frantic, representing a state of complete distress where fear takes over, and Zen, representing absolute peace within oneself with conscious control over one’s emotions as well as a balance between mind and body. Finding the balance between mind and heart is a lifelong journey and the music of Frantik Zen is part of that journey. An all star band, Frantik Zen gathers together among the best musicians in Bulgaria. With the versatile guitar of Alexander Logozarov to add more texture, the powerful grooves of Vassil Voutev on drums, the funky bass lines of Radoslav Slavchev ‘Riverman’ and the magic touch of Steve Hamilton on keys, this band provides a blend of funk, jazz, R&B, pop and stands out by offering something new and fresh in the Bulgarian music scene.
