JARZMO (PL)

JARZMO [ya-shmoh] is a duo formed in late 2022 as an attempt to build the fullest possible sound using only two instruments and vocals. Their sound refers equally to classical music, and stoner rock, as for Polish traditional music. It evolved naturally towards dirty industrial with a folk flair given by the characteristics of the nyckelharpa - very specific instrument created by Piotr, who actually is an experimental luthier and constructor.He invited the drummer Kasia Bobik to the duo, who brought her musical experience from previous jazz, funk and rock projects. The musicians were united by their passion for traditional music and all its modern interpretations. This combination turned out to be a proper sonic background for the idea behind the band's name and the specific mission: to describe contemporary global problems such as overproduction, overpopulation, and the climate crisis, with music. Nostalgia for the old days of our ancestors who lived in harmony with the rhythm of nature, is changing into the growing anger at the human race, rushing towards inevitable defeat. But there is still hope. Nomads will chase it.

These are the topics that will dominate the band's debut album entitled ANTROPOCEN. In its activities, Jarzmo focuses on DIY: independent production of music, instruments, amplifiers, microphones and merch.
