ESCARTEEN SISTERS (NL)

Escarteen Sisters is a duo formed by two sisters who sing and play viola and cello simultaneously. Their music combines chamber-like arrangements with folk melodies and jazz-influenced harmonies.

Born into a multicultural family with Flemish and Spanish roots and growing up between Mexico and Belgium, the sisters bring diverse cultural influences into their compositions. Their songs feature original lyrics in different languages and explore themes of identity, memory and travel.
