Developing A to JazZ with the lowest possible environmental impact is a key priority for us since 2019. Every year, we strive to introduce new and improved approaches to waste management, reduce our carbon footprint, and minimize the use of single-use plastics during the event. A to JazZ is the first cultural event in Bulgaria to measure its environmental footprint. For several years, we have been working with Positive Planet Events, one of Europe’s leading sustainability certification organizations for events. Each year, they assess the festival’s environmental impact and certify A to JazZ, consistently recognizing our progress in reducing pollution and improving our sustainability performance.

We continue to work diligently towards our long-term goal of becoming a zero-waste festival. Together with our partners, we have introduced reusable festival cups, implemented comprehensive waste separation and recycling systems in cooperation with EcoPack Bulgaria, and established Bulgaria’s first festival drinking water refill station in partnership with Sofia Water. As a result, we have reduced the use of single-use plastics by 80% and prevent nearly 600 kilograms of plastic waste from being generated each year. Over the next three years, one of our key priorities will be to eliminate the use of diesel generators in the festival park and connect the event to the electricity grid. We are actively seeking solutions to achieve this goal while increasing the use of renewable resources, sustainable materials, and clean energy.
