VICTORIA KIRILOVA QUARTET (BG/AT)

Nominated for the Austrian Jazz Award 2026, Victoria is an active bassist and composer on the European jazz scene. Her music is a synthesis of diverse influences—from the harmonies and timbres of contemporary jazz and chamber music to the poetry and asymmetrical rhythms of Bulgarian folklore. Her album Roots & Skies, described as a “discovery” (Der Standard) and a “gem” (The Jazz Journal), seeks to balance the universal and the distinctive, the local and the global. Each composition tells a story, taking listeners on journeys through exotic cities, vivid landscapes, and mystical realms.

The quartet features Oscar Antolí, a clarinet and bass clarinet player who studied jazz and contemporary music in Barcelona and at Codarts; jazz pianist Dimitar Gorchakov, whose musical approach blends electronics, folklore, and improvisation in his original projects; and Borislav Petrov, a drummer known for his versatile work in contemporary and experimental jazz.
